Wow it's crazy to say 13 months! The month of March has been a busy crazy one. We have enjoyed the beautiful weather hitting up the parks and just sitting outside having picnics. We battled 104 temps from Blake which ended up being a UTI. Poor baby was in so much pain and was inconsolable for a week straight. We even experienced our first "park mom encounter" and ventured out to the zoo.
Blake and Dax are into absolutely everything and when I say everything I'm talking everything. We thought we were on our toes a few months ago. Now we are even busier trying to get them out of whatever it is that they have found. A good sign is whenever it gets quiet. That's actually a bad sign meaning they are doing something they should not be. Another added challenge is that they are usually in two separate places doing two different things they should not be. Currently they are so fast with their crawling that when you get one out of say the laundry room and moved to another room by the time you go back to remove the other one from the laundry room the one you just removed has made their way back to the laundry room.
Park Mom Encounter:
This event was straight out of Youtube. It all began with our first trip to the park. I should have known I was about to encounter this mom when I heard the singing from the gazebo. We made our way to a tree laid out our blanket and started our picnic. Then it happened; I heard oh there's some twins lets go meet some new friends today. My thoughts "oh shit keep walking, keep walking" Nope not going to happen. So this is how it all went down: PM is park mom and Me
PM: "Well hello we have a bit of the sniffles today"
Me: thinking to myself I can get us out of this "Oh well we are on RSV patrol so we can't get sick"
PM: "Well we will just sit over here (now talking to the baby in a high pitched voice but in third person but really talking to me) we may just have some allergies, isn't that right Boo boo?"
PM: "So what are your names? What do you do? Do you live here? Do you come to this park often? I've never seen you before. Who's your pediatrician? Do you co sleep? Are you still breastfeeding? Do you do gymboree?"
Me: We see Doctor K.
PM: "Oh we interviewed him and we go to Dr. S we figured (third person) since Dr. S was there when you were born we would go with him. Isn't that right Booboo? Since he was there from the very moment you entered that was our choice. Isn't that right booboo?
PM: Do you co-sleep? We still do, my hubs and doc both disagree.
Me: No I put them in their own room within about 72 hours of being home from the hospital.
PM: OOOH well are you breastfeeding? Mommy had an accident and I just can't bare to hear you cry for me and I know that would happen if you were not beside me at night. Oh booboo mommy doesn't want that to happen again.
So you get the picture-this went on for a good 30 minutes; however it felt like an eternity. I was saved by a friend walking up.
We took the kids to a friends house to make Easter eggs. They had a blast splashing in the water and coloring their eggs. Blake grabbed the dye tablet and shoved it in her mouth so she became an orange Easter egg. Dax man loved the water so much that he kept putting his hat that was on his head in the water and then would look up laughing because he was drenching himself. The next day we took them to the zoo where they saw all the animals and played in the water at the end.
Blake: She now makes a fake cough and will imitate you when you do it then laugh. She loves sweet potatoes and get this salad with balsamic vinaigrette. That was a shocker for us all. We were at Victoria's and she started screaming for the salad so we let her try it thinking no way this child will like this. Nope we were all wrong, she loved it. She is super fast when she crawls and will follow you like a little puppy. When the girl is on a mission she laughs as she crawls to her destination and the other day it was the stairs. Blake has 3 and half bottom teeth and 4 top teeth. She refuses to allow us to brush them and fights us nightly.
Dax: He is a little lover and loves to hug or snuggle with his momma. He is learning to high five and will mimic you when we clap our hands. He is all boy and loves to play in the dirt and grass. He will grab Blake's helmet and plow her over. She does hold her own for that matter. Mr. Dax is learning to stand and when he does he giggles to himself and is so proud of his accomplishment. He loves chicken, tofu, and beans. Dax man has two bottom teeth and three top teeth. He is a resistant on the brushing but we have found we can tickle him and the mouth opens right up.
Enjoy our favorite pics from this month.
